  • What are Rec Springs’ business hours?

    For the Main Lodge/Restaurant: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM daily


    For the Rental Shop: 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM daily during season

  • What are the resort’s amenities?

  • When is UTV Season?

    UTV season is from May 15 - December 15.


    Please Note: UTV season may end earlier due to snow/weather conditions and for safety reasons. We do not send units out under unsafe conditions.

  • When is Snowmobile Season?

    Snowmobile season is from Dec 15th - March 31st. Season may change due to weather conditions.

  • What age do you need to be to rent or drive a UTV or Snowmobile?

    Must be 21 yrs. Old to Rent Snowmobiles or UTV's and 18 yrs. old with valid driver's license to Operate Rentals.

  • Are helmets provided?

    Helmets are provided with rentals. Anyone under the age of 18 is required to wear a helmet.

  • Do you offer insurance on rentals?

    We do not offer insurance on rentals. If you are concerned about insurance, please contact your insurance company. Drivers are required to complete a waiver prior to rental that states you are fully responsible for any accidents or any damage to the equipment.

  • Do you take reservations?

    Reservations are encouraged to ensure rentals will be available. Weekends and holidays are usually fully booked in advance.

  • How much is the deposit?

    A $75 Non-Refundable deposit per unit/per day is required at the time of booking for UTV and Snowmobile rentals. A 25% Non-Refundable deposit is required on the total booking amount for motel, cabin, or RV site rentals.

  • What is Rec Springs’ cancellation policy?

    Securing a reservation with your deposit means you accept the terms and conditions of our UTV/Snowmobile Rental Cancellation Policy. Cancellations made less than 5 Days before your scheduled date will be charged the full amount of the entire rental as it is very difficult to rebook our resources on such short notice. No refunds for weather conditions.


    If you are a no-show, you will be charged the full amount for the entire rental.


    All deposits and payments made during holidays, over the Sturgis Bike Rally, or during any other special events/weekends are NON-REFUNDABLE.


    All reservations made for 5 or more units may not be cancelled, and any deposits or payments made are NON-REFUNDABLE.

  • Is parking available?

    We DO NOT have a public parking area on the property. The parking lot is reserved for resort guests/excess trailers. Please check at the office to see if a Daily Parking Pass is currently available to purchase.

  • Is there Fuel, Ice, and an RV Dump?

    We do have a fueling station on-site (Premium Fuel 91 Octane), ice for sale, and an RV dump.

  • Do you sell Trail Permits?

    Yes, we do sell $25 Annual Black Hills National Forest trail permits. Trail permits are required to ride the trails.

  • Do you accept Out-of-State UTVs?

    Out-of-state UTVs must be licensed/registered in your home state. If not, you will need to purchase a temporary license plate from any South Dakota County Treasurer's Office. The nearest office is located at 90 Sherman St., Deadwood, SD 57732 (Phone Number: 605-578-1862). Download the Lawrence County ATV info sheet needed for a temporary permit. 

  • What is available in the cabins?

    • Mini Fridge, Microwave, & Small Seating Area
    • Bathroom/Shower
    • Towels and Linens are included
    • A/C
    • No TV - enjoy the great outdoors!
  • Are there trails close by?

    UTV trails are within 1 mile of the resort with easy access from the highway.

    Snowmobile Trail - Trail #5 has access from the property.

  • Is there internet/cell service?

    Cell service and limited Wi-Fi are available at the resort.

  • What is the Minimum Age requirement for UTV/Snowmobiles?

    Rule of thumb- 42" height-generally 4-5 yrs of age this also enables a child to grab hand hold and feet to touch the floor safely. Seat Belts are required.

  • What is your pet policy?

    Unfortunately, Pets are not allowed in any Motel Rooms or Cabins anymore due to multiple issues in the past, damages and disregard to our facilities.


    • All pets are required to be always on leashes when on the property.

    • Owners also responsible for cleaning up pet droppings and properly disposing of them.

    • Not notifying Recreational Springs Resort of pet will result in $200.00 fee

    • No pets of aggressive nature are allowed on property.

    • Do not leave pets unattended or continual barking, if so will be asked to leave the property.

    • Papered Service Animals are allowed
